Virginie Cotte

Virginie Cotte PhD, CSci, FIFST RSensSci is currently Regional Product Sensory Manager for Europe & North Africa region. Her current role is to provide guidance and consultancy in cross-category initiatives and generate sensory insights relevant to the region and end markets.

Virginie has 20 years’ experience at British American Tobacco within the sensory, chemosensory and consumer science areas. Previous roles in the sensory research area consisted of defining and imlementing new sensory methodologies and chemosensory tools for the business. Some of the aims were to understand the effect of product design on aerosol odour and visibility; and of various technologies on flavour stability and release.

She is a committee member of the UK IFST (Institute of Food Science and Technology) Sensory Science Group (SSG) since 2011. Her training education is founded on a PhD in Food Flavour Science (University of Nottingham) and BSc in Applied Chemistry (Kingston University)
