Karin Wendin

Professor, PhD Karin Wendin. Professor since 2013 in Food and Meal Science at Kristianstad University, Sweden. Since January 2018 she is also Vice Dean of the Faculty of Natural Science. Affiliated to University of Copenhagen, Denmark and Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden, where she had her PhD. Her background is in chemistry and mathematics.

Currently she is working on projects concerning food for the elderly, as well as projects on Novel Foods, eg insects, algae and berries as a food sources. Sensory and consumer science are in focus of her research, as well as questions concerning interaction between man and technology. As chair of the Swedish Sensory Network, she has a broad network within both academia and industry.

Professor Wendin has 15 years of research experience from research institutes; SIK – Swedish Institute of Sweden, SP Technical Research Institute of Sweden and RISE Research Institutes of Sweden.
