Student Awards / Travel Bursaries
Sensory and consumer science is an interdisciplinary field that continues to grow, and we wish to encourage participation by young scientists. Accordingly, the 2017 Pangborn Chairs are extremely pleased to announce discounted registration rates, and travel bursaries for students and postdoctoral fellows to allow them opportunity to share their work.
The first 75 students to register for the symposium will pay a reduced registration rate of $100 for the conference (versus $350 for the early bird rate). The discounted rate can be obtained by selecting the product Registration: DISCOUNT Early Student during the registration process.
Please note that the above registration rate is only available to the first 75 students who register for the conference. Once all 75 registrations have been used, this product will no longer be available to purchase and you will need to select the product Registration: Early Student instead.
The early bird rates are only available until the early bird registration deadline.
Travel award recipients will be selected by the chairs and the organizing committee based on the quality of science of the abstract and the relevance of the abstract to the conference, and Elsevier will provide financial support to help offset the cost of attending, with the exact amount depending on the location of the student’s institution.
To be eligible for a travel awarded, you must be:
- A graduate student or postdoctoral fellow currently enrolled in an academic institution at the start of the meeting
- Submit an abstract for the meeting
- Be first author on the submitted abstract
Consideration will be given to diversity in regard to institutions and countries of origin. All awardees should be prepared for any additional costs of attendance at the meeting beyond the travel award. The awardee accepts responsibility for such costs.
