Asifa Majid<

Asifa Majid is Professor of Cognitive Science at the University of Oxford, renowned for her groundbreaking research on the interplay between language, culture, and sensory perception. Using extensive fieldwork with diverse linguistic communities, in combination with lab-based experiments, she has demonstrated that languages shape and reflect distinct sensory worlds. Her work has been widely recognized by various accolades, including the Jeffrey L. Elman Prize for Scientific Achievement and Community Building from the Cognitive Science Society, the Ammodo Science Award for fundamental research from the Ammodo Foundation, and Radboud Science Award for the “best, most important, and most stimulating scientific research”.
