Dr Rebecca (Becki) Ford

Dr Rebecca (Becki) Ford is Associate Professor in Sensory and Consumer Science at the University of Nottingham, UK. Becki’s research is focused on understanding multi-sensory flavour perception. Her expertise has been applied to measure the impact of alcohol on flavour release and sensory perception in alcoholic systems resulting in an advanced understanding of how sensory signals are used and integrated to perceive flavour from complex alcoholic beverage systems. Through previous industry roles, she has considerable experience consulting, advising and developing sensory capabilities for global food and beverage companies. Becki currently leads the Sensory and Consumer Science capability at the University of Nottingham, is course director for the Post-Graduate Certificate in Sensory Science and teaches Sensory Science at both undergraduate and post-graduate levels. Becki is a member of the Institute of Food Science and Technology (IFST), committee member of the IFST's Sensory Science Group, member of the European Sensory Science Society (E3S) and E3S taste sensitivity working group.
