Mei Peng, University of Otago, New Zealand
Dr. Mei Peng is Sensory Lecturer and Principal Investigator in the Department of Food Science at the University of Otago, New Zealand. With a background in Experimental Psychology and Psychophysics, Dr. Peng focuses her research on individual differences in sensory processing and their links to pathological eating behaviours and obesity, using both behavioural and neuroimaging techniques. She has been recently awarded the most prestigious research grant in New Zealand – the Marsden Research Fund – to develop a novel research project on “Searching for multi-sensory fingerprints: a personalised index of hedonic eating”.
Dr. Peng is also an active member of the Australasian sensory research group, having recently convened the 11th Australia and New Zealand Sensory and Consumer Science Symposium.
