Gastón Ares, Universidad de la República, Uruguay
Gastón Ares is Associate Professor in Sensometrics and Consumer science at Universidad de la República (Uruguay). He leads an interdisciplinary research group specialized in consumer behavior. He has extensive experience in research and teaching in the area of sensory and consumer science and has collaborated with several research groups worldwide. He has authored more than 350 articles in international refereed journals, several book chapters and numerous presentations in scientific meetings. Gastón was awarded with the 2011 Food Quality and Preference award for a young researcher, for his contribution to sensory and consumer science. He serves as Associate Editor of Appetite and Journal of Sensory Studies. He is a a member of the Nutrition Guidance Expert Advisory Group (NUGAG) Subgroup on Policy Actions of the World Health Organization.
