Carlos Gómez–Corona, Firmenich, Switzerland
Carlos Gómez–Corona is Director of Consumer Research & Sensory at Firmenich. His main responsibilities are to understand the perception of food products, as well as natural and sustainable flavors and ingredients. He also leads the global sensory strategy for the Taste division. He has conducted research both in the academia and the industry, as well as teaching in the area of sensory and consumer science, collaborating with several research groups worldwide. His publications focus mainly on consumption experience, product perception and representation, and social responsibility. He obtained his master’s degree in Sensory & Consumer Research from the University of Burgundy in France, followed by a PhD in Consumer Research in UAM-Mexico. Carlos was awarded with the Rose Marie Pangborn Sensory Science Scholarship in 2014; and is now part of the editorial board of Food Research International, Food Quality and Preference, and editor at Cogent Business & Management. Since 2022 Carlos serves as the chairman of the Sensometrics Society.
