Karin Wendin, Kristianstad University, Sweden


Karin Wendin, Professor, PhD is leader and founder of the research group Food and Meals in Everyday Life (MEAL) and of the education and research profile Food Health and Retail (FOHRK) at Kristianstad University, Sweden. Further, affiliated to Dept of Food Science, University of Copenhagen Denmark. Karin’s background is in chemistry, and she has more than 20 years of experience of research in sensory science in combination with consumer perception and food innovations. Her research is focusing on understanding perception and preferences in relation to chemical and physical properties of food as well as in relation to specific consumer groups and their needs.
