Student and ECR Bursaries

The deadline for application for bursaries has now passed.

Sensory and consumer science is an evolving field and it is our early career researchers (ECR) who will help shape the future of the discipline. As we look to the future, we wish to encourage participation by early career scientists at the Pangborn symposium.

The 2023 Pangborn Chairs are delighted to announce the availability of an outstanding number of bursaries for students and ECR to attend and travel to Nantes to share their work.

Bursary recipients will be selected by the chairs and the organizing committee based on the quality of science of the abstract and the relevance of the abstract to the conference, and Elsevier will provide financial support to help offset the cost of attending, with the exact amount depending on the location of the student’s institution.

To be eligible for a bursary award, you must be:

A graduate student (Master or PhD) currently enrolled in an academic institution at the start of the meeting or an early career researcher with a Ph.D obtained not before 31 August 2020

The presenting author of a submitted abstract (please include your abstract ID in the application, only authors with an accepted abstract will be considered for a bursary) This is a competitive application process based on the panel’s assessment of the contribution of the abstract to the conference, and the value of attending the conference to the applicant.

Consideration will be given to diversity in regard to institutions and countries of origin.

The award is a financial contribution (one single payment) and will cover travel, registration, gala dinner and accommodation.

All awardees should be prepared for any additional costs of attendance at the meeting beyond the award. The awardee accepts responsibility for such costs.
